Amara Wash & Fold Laundry Services

Terms of use and disclaimer

Amara Wash & Fold Laundry Services, Nairobi, Kenya

About these terms

These terms apply to this website, the Amara application and every laundry service booked through them. By booking a pickup, creating an account or sending us a message you accept the terms set out on this page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

Prices are starting rates

Every price shown on this website is a starting rate and is not a final quotation. Booking is free and no payment is taken when you place an order. The final amount payable is confirmed after your items are received, weighed and counted, and our team calls you with that amount before you pay. Payment may be made by M-Pesa on paybill 522533, account number 8054583, or in cash on delivery. Prices, service areas and time windows may change at any time without notice.

Garment care and pre existing condition

We handle every item with professional care and follow manufacturer care labels where they are present and legible. We cannot accept responsibility for damage arising from the condition of an item before it reached us, from missing or incorrect care labels, from weak or aged fibres, from dye that is not colourfast, from trims, beads, buttons or prints that are not secure, or from earlier cleaning or home treatment carried out by others.

Items must be presented free of money, keys, documents, electronics, jewellery and other valuables. We are not responsible for anything left inside pockets or packed with an order. Please tell us in writing at booking about any item of unusual value, delicate construction or sentimental importance so that we can advise you before accepting it.

No warranties and no representations

The website, the application and all information on them are provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, Amara Wash & Fold Laundry Services makes no warranties or representations of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, accuracy or completeness of content, or freedom from error.

Fabric care guidance published in our journal is general information written for a wide audience. It is not professional advice for a specific garment, and we make no representation that following it will produce a particular result. Always test on a hidden area and follow the manufacturer label.

Limits of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of use or distress. Claims must be raised with us within seven days of delivery so that we can inspect the item.

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, civil disturbance, utility failure, network or payment provider downtime, or acts of public authorities.

Payments

Payments may be made by mobile money, by payment request, or in cash on collection or delivery, as offered at the time of booking. Payment providers operate their own systems and terms, and we do not control or guarantee their availability. Always confirm that you have received a payment confirmation message before treating an amount as settled.

Reviews and accounts

Reviews published on this website are the personal opinions of the customers who wrote them and are not statements by Amara. We may decline to publish a review that we cannot verify. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for activity carried out under your account.

Your details and messages

We collect only the details we need to run a collection, a delivery and a payment, and to reply to a message you send us. We do not sell personal data. Messages sent through the contact page are stored so that a request is not lost and are seen only by authorised Amara staff.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute. We may update this page from time to time, and the version published here is the version that applies.
